Update from January Parish Council Meeting

Carlton and Chellington Parish Council

At the January meeting the following was discussed

  • The precept has not been increased for three years, however this year it will rise to £23500, which will be an increase of £2.34pa on a band D property.
  • There is now a new, larger bin on The Causeway to replace the old litter bin and dog bin- this should stop issues of overflowing bins as the Borough Council only empty them fortnightly. The old waste bin has replaced the dog bin on Edens Lane to provide more capacity there. The Borough have confirmed they are unlikely to install new bins, and we therefore have had to move existing bins around or increase size.
  • Buses- the Parish Council continue to pressure Stagecoach to go round the village correctly so that bus stops can be used
  • The Annual Litter Pick will take place on a Saturday morning in late April. As soon as a formal date is agreed it will be shared- everybody is welcome to join in
  • Works will be undertaken near the Memorial to remove a lot of the low lying bushes and branches to open up the area to make it neater.
  • A works order to repair The Causeway has been raised by the Borough Council although no date is available at the moment.
